Introduction – What is NCLEX?

1. What is AIIMS NORCET?

AIIMS NORCET (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test) is a national-level exam conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi for the recruitment of Nursing Officers (Group B) across all AIIMS institutes and participating central hospitals.

2. Who can apply for NORCET?

You can apply if you have:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing / Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing, OR

  • GNM + 2 years clinical experience in a minimum 50-bed hospital
    AND

  • You must be a Registered Nurse & Midwife with a valid State/Indian Nursing Council registration.

3. What is the age limit for NORCET?
  • General Category: 18–30 years

  • Age relaxation is available for OBC, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen as per government norms.

4. What is the NORCET exam pattern?

NORCET consists of two stages:

  • Stage I – Prelims:

    • 100 MCQs (80 Nursing + 20 Aptitude/GK)

    • 90 minutes

    • Negative marking: –⅓

  • Stage II – Mains:

    • Nursing domain MCQs

    • Marks from this stage decide final merit.

5. Is qualifying Prelims enough for selection?

No.
Prelims is only a qualifying round.
Final selection depends entirely on your Mains score (merit-based).

6. How many times is NORCET conducted in a year?

AIIMS generally conducts the exam once a year, but the schedule can vary depending on recruitment requirements.

7. What is the syllabus for NORCET?

The syllabus includes:
